    Hello Michael,
Yes, the DHC 80.3 does have the ability to decode the Dolby Digital Plus audio format. Providing you more information of the DHC80.3 processing.

    Thank you

What about DHC-40.1? The reason I asked the question is to find out whether I should upgrade from 40.1 (that I currently have) to 80.3, thanks!

    Hello Michael,

My apologizes for leaving out the DHC 40.1's information. The DHC40.1 does not support the DD+ format. So if the Dolby Digital Plus is an audio format that you are wanting use then the DHC80.3 would be able decode the Dolby Digital Plus properly. Plus you would getting more capabilities with the DHC80.3 if you are also wanting to upgrade your speaker configuration and more device connectivity.

    Thank you

    Jennifer
